In order to implement the development strategy of facilitating tertiary industry, we will hold 2005’ Ningbo-Hong Kong Forum in Hong Kong with agreement of Hong Kong Trade Development. Its main purposes are as follows:
To Implement the development strategy of the service industry of the municipal government;
To make use of the advantages of Hong Kong service industry;
To further strengthen cooperation and achieve win-win results between Ningbo and Hong Kong on modern service areas, such as logistic, exhibition and finance
And to develop the modern service industry in Ningbo
General Requirements This forum, mainly about “Ningbo-Hong Kong modern service industry cooperation”, will be co-held by Ningbo municipal government and Hong Kong Trade Development Bureau. It emphasizes how to explore and build the new east urban area (NEUA) of Ningbo. Through different series of topic events and promotion of Ningbo new image, it is expected to facilitate cooperation and communication between Ningbo and Hong Kong on modern service industries, such as port logistics, agent service, exhibition and convention, finance, advanced manufacturing as well as urban construction. It aims to increase Ningbo’s publicity in Hong Kong and thus improve the economic development of Ningbo.

Opening Ceremony or the Promotion of Ningbo Modern Service Industry
It is to be held in two stages.
Stage one (45 mins). 200 people from different fields, such as Hong Kong SAR governments, business and academic circles, and the media are to be invited to the meeting. 4-5 high-ranking officials from departments of Hong Kong SAR, Chinese Association Office, Ningbo municipal government and personages are to speak at the meeting. They will center on the development of Ningbo’s NEUA, introduce the special location advantages Ningbo has to develop modern service industry, the prospects for cooperation between the two cities, trying make Hong Kong people know more about Ningbo’s modern service market and therefore promote cooperation and development.
Stage 2 (90 mins)
Discussions with companies and experts from Hong Kong about Ningbo’s modern service industry projects emphasized on commercial trade, exhibition, finance & insurance, agent service, buildings-centered economy at the centre of Jiangdong. The total investment of the contract projects is 300 million USD. Number of people present: 150.
