The past 5 years, foreign trade total import and export value of our province increase 21% year on average, and Ningbo city foreign trade keep lasting momentum of growth too in recent years. Ningbo’ hinterland where economy is developed have offered the rich foundation of source of goods for harbour containerized transport. Since 1999, the increasing rate of harbour containerized transport in Ningbo has occupied in succession the first in main container ports of mainland of our country for 6 years. The containerized transport of Ningbo Port continues keeping the high-speed growth this year, the throughput estimates that can exceed 36,000,000 standard containers in the whole year.
While devoting more efforts to taking on the goods, the Ningbo Port develops the container lines in a more cost-effective manner. Since the beginning of this year, they have continued insisting on regarding developing the ocean main lines as the focal point, form benign cycle on " main line promote branch line, the branch line urges the main line ".
